Cookie Policy

How cookies and browser storage are used by the British Columbia Roleplay portal.

Last updated: September 1, 2026

Strictly Necessary Cookies

Necessary cookies and browser storage are used for login, session security, account access, consent records, CSRF/session protection, and core portal workflows. These cannot be disabled through Consent Preferences because the portal cannot function without them.

Preference Storage

Preference storage may remember choices such as theme, timezone, layout behavior, and consent selections. These preferences are optional except where needed to keep required consent records.

Analytics

Analytics are disabled unless the user opts in. When enabled, analytics may help measure portal reliability, page usage, and operational performance.

Community Outreach

Community outreach storage is disabled unless the user opts in. The portal should not use this category for required operational notices, safety notices, account notices, or official community messages.

No Sale of Personal Information

British Columbia Roleplay does not sell personal information. If a browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the portal records that signal with the user's consent record where applicable.

Managing Cookies

Users can change optional choices through Consent Preferences or browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies in the browser may prevent login, session management, or parts of the portal from working correctly.
