Terms governing access to and use of British Columbia Roleplay services.

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Welcome

  • Welcome to British Columbia Roleplay ("BCRP," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the British Columbia Roleplay community, Community Management System ("CMS"), websites, applications, Discord community, FiveM services, and other services operated or provided by BCRP (collectively, the "Services").
  • By creating an account, submitting an application, joining the community, or otherwise accessing or using our Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
  • If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Services.

1. About British Columbia Roleplay

  • British Columbia Roleplay is an independently operated FiveM roleplay community inspired by British Columbia, Canada.
  • BCRP is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of the Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia, Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Cfx.re, Discord, or any real-world police, fire, emergency medical, military, government, or public-safety agency, unless expressly stated otherwise.
  • Names, uniforms, terminology, insignia, vehicles, or other references to real organizations may be used for fictional and roleplay purposes.
  • Nothing provided through BCRP constitutes an actual government, law-enforcement, fire, emergency medical, military, legal, medical, or other public-safety service.

2. Eligibility and Age Requirements

  • You must meet BCRP's current minimum age and membership requirements to participate in the community.
  • As part of the application and recruitment process, BCRP may request information such as your age and date of birth to determine eligibility, enforce age requirements, and administer community membership.
  • You agree that information provided during the application and recruitment process will be truthful, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge.
  • Providing false or intentionally misleading information about your age, identity, eligibility, qualifications, or application may result in denial of an application or action under the BCRP Member Handbook.
  • Additional age, training, experience, or eligibility requirements may apply to specific departments, positions, certifications, leadership roles, or community features.

3. Accounts

  • Certain BCRP Services require a Community Management System account.
  • You are responsible for providing accurate account information, maintaining the security of your account, keeping your login credentials confidential, using only accounts you are authorized to access, and promptly notifying BCRP if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • You may not sell, transfer, share, or provide another person access to your account unless specifically authorized by BCRP Administration.
  • You may not attempt to access another user's account or impersonate another user through the CMS.
  • BCRP may require reasonable verification before restoring account access or processing certain account-related requests.

4. Community Applications and Recruitment

  • Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into BCRP or any particular department, position, rank, staff role, or leadership position.
  • Applications may be reviewed by authorized Human Resources personnel, recruitment personnel, department leadership, or administrators.
  • BCRP may approve or deny applications based on community requirements, qualifications, application responses, interviews, previous community history, conduct, availability, or other legitimate community considerations.
  • Applicants must provide truthful and accurate information. Intentionally false, fraudulent, misleading, or materially incomplete information may result in an application being denied or further action under the BCRP Member Handbook.

5. Community Rules and Conduct

  • Users are expected to follow these Terms, the BCRP Member Handbook, applicable department policies, standard operating procedures, Discord rules, roleplay rules, and lawful instructions issued by authorized BCRP personnel.
  • You may not use the Services to harass, threaten, stalk, bully, or unlawfully discriminate against another person.
  • You may not impersonate another member, staff member, administrator, or real-world official in a misleading or harmful manner.
  • You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, records, systems, or restricted areas; exploit vulnerabilities; bypass permissions; or interfere with the operation or security of BCRP systems.
  • You may not introduce or distribute malware, malicious code, phishing material, or other harmful content.
  • You may not spam, flood, or deliberately disrupt community systems or communications.
  • You may not publish or distribute another person's private or confidential information without authorization.
  • You may not falsify BCRP records, certifications, training records, patrol logs, disciplinary records, applications, or other community documentation.
  • You may not abuse administrative, staff, moderation, Human Resources, or department permissions; use BCRP Services for unlawful activities; or encourage or assist another person in violating these Terms.
  • Member conduct and disciplinary matters are handled in accordance with the BCRP Member Handbook.

6. Community Management System

  • The BCRP Community Management System provides features used to operate and administer the community.
  • Depending on your assigned role and permissions, CMS features may include member profiles and rosters, applications and recruitment, departments, subdivisions, ranks and positions, roles and permissions, training records, certifications and awards, disciplinary records, leave of absence requests, department transfers, patrol logs, patrol sign-ups and scheduling, events and calendars, documents and acknowledgements, internal messages and communications, Human Resources functions, administrative tools, and security and audit logs.
  • Access to CMS information and features is determined by assigned roles, permissions, department membership, leadership status, and administrative configuration.
  • Having technical access to information does not give you permission to copy, disclose, distribute, modify, misuse, or retain that information for unauthorized purposes.

7. Confidential and Restricted Information

  • Certain information available to Human Resources personnel, department leadership, staff members, administrators, or other authorized users may be considered confidential or restricted.
  • Users with elevated access must use such information only for legitimate BCRP purposes and within the scope of their assigned responsibilities.
  • Confidential or restricted information must not be disclosed outside authorized BCRP channels unless disclosure is authorized by BCRP or required by applicable law.
  • Access privileges may be modified or revoked when they are no longer required or when they are misused.

8. User Content

  • Users may be able to submit information, messages, documents, images, application responses, reports, patrol records, forms, or other content through the Services ("User Content").
  • You retain any ownership rights you have in your original User Content.
  • By submitting User Content to BCRP, you grant BCRP a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, process, and use that content to the extent reasonably necessary to operate, secure, administer, moderate, maintain, and improve BCRP and its Services.
  • This license does not transfer ownership of your original content to BCRP.
  • You represent that you have the necessary rights or authorization to submit the content you provide and that your content does not unlawfully infringe another person's rights.

9. Community Records

  • BCRP may create and maintain administrative records relating to community participation.
  • These records may include applications and recruitment records, membership history, departments and ranks, training records, certifications, awards, patrol activity, leave of absence records, transfers, disciplinary records, administrative notes, documents and acknowledgements, and security and audit records.
  • These records are maintained for legitimate community administration, security, accountability, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and enforcement purposes.
  • Leaving BCRP does not necessarily result in the immediate deletion of these records.
  • The collection, use, retention, and handling of personal information contained within community records is further explained in the BCRP Privacy Policy.

10. Moderation and Disciplinary Actions

  • Member conduct, disciplinary procedures, corrective actions, suspensions, removals, and appeals are governed by the current BCRP Member Handbook and any applicable department policies or procedures.
  • Members are responsible for reviewing and following the current Member Handbook while participating in BCRP.
  • BCRP Administration, Human Resources, department leadership, and other authorized personnel may investigate alleged violations and take action in accordance with the Member Handbook.
  • If there is a conflict between this section and the disciplinary procedures established in the Member Handbook, the Member Handbook will govern the disciplinary process, except where these Terms or applicable law require otherwise.

11. Suspension and Termination

  • Membership suspensions, community removals, department removals, and other disciplinary restrictions are handled in accordance with the BCRP Member Handbook and applicable community policies.
  • BCRP may separately restrict or suspend access to the CMS or other BCRP systems when reasonably necessary to protect the security, integrity, or availability of the Services, including in cases involving suspected unauthorized access, compromised accounts, system abuse, or other security concerns.
  • When a member resigns, is removed, or otherwise leaves BCRP, access to member-only systems, departments, permissions, records, or other restricted Services may be removed.
  • Ending your membership or losing access to the Services does not necessarily result in the immediate deletion of records associated with your account. Information may be retained as described in the BCRP Privacy Policy, Member Handbook, or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.

12. Intellectual Property

  • Except for User Content and third-party materials, BCRP owns or licenses the content and systems specifically created for BCRP, including original website content, CMS designs, graphics, community documentation, databases, custom software, branding, and other original materials.
  • You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, commercially exploit, or improperly access BCRP-owned materials except with permission or where otherwise permitted by applicable law.
  • Third-party names, trademarks, logos, game assets, and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.

13. Third-Party Services

  • BCRP may integrate with or rely upon third-party services, including Discord, FiveM/Cfx.re, game services, authentication providers, hosting providers, email services, analytics providers, and other technology platforms.
  • Your use of third-party services may also be subject to the respective provider's terms, rules, and privacy policies.
  • BCRP does not control third-party platforms and cannot guarantee their availability or operation.
  • BCRP is not responsible for outages, suspensions, changes, data practices, account actions, or other decisions independently made by third-party providers.

14. Service Availability

  • BCRP works to maintain the availability and reliability of its Services, but continuous or uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
  • Services may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical problems, security incidents, hosting failures, third-party outages, or circumstances outside BCRP's reasonable control.
  • BCRP may modify, add, replace, suspend, or discontinue features as the community and its systems develop.

15. No Employment or Government Relationship

  • Membership, ranks, departments, leadership positions, Human Resources positions, staff roles, certifications, promotions, or other positions within BCRP are fictional and/or volunteer community roles, unless BCRP expressly enters into a separate written agreement stating otherwise.
  • Participation in BCRP does not create an employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, contractor, or government relationship.
  • BCRP ranks, titles, training, and certifications are intended for community and roleplay purposes and should not be represented as actual government authority or real-world professional credentials.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

  • To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BCRP Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
  • BCRP does not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from technical problems.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, protections, or other rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

17. Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BCRP and its operators, administrators, staff, volunteers, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages resulting from or relating to your access to or use of the Services.
  • BCRP is not responsible for losses resulting from third-party outages, unauthorized conduct by other users, loss of roleplay progress, community membership decisions, or interruptions outside BCRP's reasonable control.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

18. Privacy

  • BCRP's collection, use, disclosure, retention, and protection of personal information is described in the BCRP Privacy Policy.
  • The Privacy Policy should be reviewed together with these Terms.
  • Where applicable privacy laws provide users with specific rights concerning their personal information, those rights are addressed through the Privacy Policy and applicable BCRP privacy procedures.

19. Changes to These Terms

  • BCRP may update these Terms when its Services, community practices, policies, features, or legal obligations change.
  • When material changes are made, BCRP may provide notice through the CMS, website, Discord, email, or another reasonable communication method.
  • The "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms identifies when this version was most recently revised.
  • Where applicable law requires affirmative consent to a change, BCRP will request such consent rather than relying solely on continued use of the Services.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

21. Entire Agreement and Community Policies

  • These Terms, together with the BCRP Privacy Policy, BCRP Member Handbook, and any additional policies or rules expressly applicable to a particular BCRP Service, govern your use of and participation in BCRP Services.
  • The Member Handbook governs internal membership standards and disciplinary procedures, while these Terms govern access to and use of BCRP Services.
  • Department-specific policies, standard operating procedures, and training requirements may impose additional requirements on members participating in those departments.
